    • in the 1881 census shown as living in the union work house hailsham as a pauper.

      I have found Ref to a Reuben Lavender being transported to Tasmainia in 1823,for 14 years at portsmouth courts, he sailed on the albion to tas in may 1823 and arrived there in the october, he married a Hannah Owen in 1830 in brighton tas both were pardoned and lived in Green ponds now kempton Tasmania, they left Tas in 1849 for Melbourne, after this the tail goes cold, he may have returned to england and then lost eveything and ended up in the poor house. any information would be welcome
