    • Ester had a pretty bad record at age 13 she was in trouble twice…
      ESTHER MARY GAMBLE was indicted for feloniously stealing on the 11th of September 1809, 4 curtains, value 5 s., the property of John Ritchie.
      GUILTY , aged 13.
      First Middlesex jury, before Mr. Recorder.
      Fined one shilling , confined six months in the house of correction, and there kept to hard labour .

      ESTHER GAMBLE was indicted for feloniously stealing, on the 11th of June 1810, twenty laced veils, value 40 l. six laced handkerchiefs, value 12 l. a pair of laced sleeves, value 2 l. and three yards of lace, value 15 s. the property of Charles Harris , privately in his shop.
      GUILTY - DEATH , aged 13!
      The prisoner was recommended to his Majesty’s mercy by the Jury and the Prosecutor, on account of her confession and her youth .
      First Middlesex jury, before Mr. Justice Chambre.
      The sentence was commuted to transportation for LIFE at age 13.
